About Lighthouse Fellowship's Church Site

About Our Site

We originally referred to our building on Robertson Road as The Bridge because we wanted people to understand that our goal is to serve our community and in doing so, become a Bridge to God.

Ground Breaking was held on August 8, 2004.

Total cost of the project is $3.2 million, about half is financed.

There is about 32,000 square feet including our worship center, school facilities for up to 250 students,
school and church offices and our coffee bar that includes wireless internet access

The lighthouse on top reaches to about 65 feet and is our reminder that we are to help people see
the Light that is Jesus Christ – the Light of the World.

As we grow this building will eventually become the center for our Student Ministries.

The cross that hangs on the wall in the lobby area as you enter the building used to hang on the wall
at the front of the sanctuary on Azle Avenue; it hangs on a stone wall that is similar to the look it had in
its place there. It is called a Celtic cross and combines the symbol of the cross, with a circle. The
cross reminds us of Jesus’ sacrifice, the circle reminds us of the eternal nature of God’s love.

Within the concrete of our building lie many rocks that had scriptures written on them by members of
our church and school. Additionally, there is a Bible encased in the concrete at each corner of the
building, and one directly under where the pulpit stands today. Also, beneath the carpet in the worship
center are written many more verses of scripture. Each of these are reminders that our church is
founded on God’s word – the living person of Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit.

This facility will allow us to grow to 1500 in worship by utilizing it in at least five services. At that point
we will need to start on the next worship facility.

About Our Pastor

Our Pastor, Frank Briggs, is originally from Arizona where he earned his undergraduate degree. In
1985 he received his advanced degree from SMU. Frank has been Senior Pastor at Lighthouse
Fellowship since 1990. He currently lives in Fort Worth with his wife, Kris, and their two sons, Jeremy
(who recently graduated college) and Nathaniel (who is a high school senior).

About Our Site - Facts & Figures

Our 40 acres was purchased on July 2, 1998

The original cost of the land was $400,000

A Master Plan has been developed for build-out of our 40 acres which will include:

  • School facilities for 1000 students, K-12.
  • A Mission Center out of which we’ll focus on helping people in need in our community, state
    and world.
  • A gymnasium that would also serve as a place for community activities.
  • A Retreat Center that would have motel style rooms and meeting space for groups of 100.
  • A Prayer Tower, open 24/7 for people to come and pray.
  • Outdoor sports facilities for the school and community
  • Fitness center
  • A walking/jogging/praying trail around the entire perimeter of our property.
  • Another Worship Center that will seat 2500 and include a Music Suite.
  • A larger coffee shop and book/gift store.
  • One interesting factor involved in choosing this site is that Robertson Road is planned, by
the city of Fort Worth to become a major artery connecting I-35 with Jacksboro Highway. This
gives us great access to people coming from the four points of the compass.

Our Purpose: To follow the light of Jesus Christ and become a beacon of His light for others.
